Carpenter Farms has broadened its offerings, thanks to the addition of a new barn and greenhouses.
The Madison Township farm, famous for its pumpkins, likewise is becoming a popular area for flowers and produce.
Our elite greenhouses are doing better than we expected, greenhouse supervisor Abby Carpenter said.
She said they are focusing on hanging baskets, bed linen plants, patio pots and more. They likewise are offering plants such as tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, zucchini and squash, along with veggie, flower and herb seed.
We want to be a one-stop place for gardening needs, Carpenter stated.
The strategy was to just build the barn to help with the pumpkin side of the business. They wanted long-term toilets and cover in case of bad weather. Carpenter stated, the greenhouse opportunity came along and they seized it with the concept of being able to provide customers something all year.
We would like to include two more greenhouses in the future, Carpenter stated.
In the meantime, the plants and flowers they have are in bloom.
